Neighbor-Focused Leadership for County Council

I’m Sara Cimmers, and I’m running for County Council because local government should work for the people who live here. Together, we can build communities where families thrive, neighborhoods stay connected, and every voice is heard.

Meet Sara

I’m Sara Cimmers— a mother, advocate, former educator, and proud mother who believes local government should be rooted in kindness, common sense, and community.

I’m running for County Council because the decisions made at the local level shape our everyday lives: where we can afford to live, how our neighborhoods grow, how families access services, and whether people truly feel heard by their government.

I believe leadership starts with listening. Our communities deserve representation that sees people, values lived experience, and works to make local government more responsive, more compassionate, and more effective.

This campaign is built on the idea that neighbors working together can make even the biggest challenges feel possible.

Communities Thrive When No One is Left Behind

I believe local government should work for everyone- especially the people who too often feel overlooked.

Putting People First

ALL people deserve a county government that sees them, supports them, and puts their well-being first.

I will champion policies that strengthen essential services, expand access to community resources, and protect the dignity and security of the people who have built and sustain our neighborhoods.

Housing Security & Affordability

A stable home is the foundation of a thriving life.

I support practical, people-centered solutions that expand housing opportunities, protect affordability, and help families remain in the communities they love as our county continues to grow.

Government That Cares

Government should work with compassion, accountability, and real community input.

I believe that leadership starts with listening and making decisions that reflect the every day realities of the people we serve.

Help Good Things Fly

This campaign is powered by neighbors who believe local government can still lead with heart.

From our Flying Pigs of Possibility fundraiser to grassroots conversations on front porches and in living rooms, this moment is about believing that better things are possible when ordinary people step up together.

Every volunteer, every donor, and every conversation helps lift this campaign.
